Shannon Bynum — Corps de Ballet

Newly married Shannon Bynum of San Jose, California is currently in her fourth season with Ballet San Jose. She joined the Company as a trainee in 2006, advanced to an apprentice in 2007, and became a full company member 2008. She traveled to Italy with Ballet San Jose School in 2005 to compete in the Grand Prix Italia, where the school took two first place awards, and also is please to have toured with Ballet San Jose to China in 2008.

While at Ballet San Jose Mrs. Bynum danced in Nahat’s ONTOGENY and MENDELSSOHN SYMPHONE, although her favorite role was in Twyla Tharp’s NINE SINATRA SONGS, in which she danced "That’s Life". Shannon has trained with American Ballet Theatre, the Joffrey Ballet School, has performed at USDAN as a professional, and was a principal dancer in Preston Dugger’s LANGUISHING FOR LOVE. In addition to her ballet experience, Mrs. Bynum has trained in contemporary and jazz dance, and has performed in MKF Modalities of Fresno. She has also studied theatre arts at Fresno State University.
